Halloween Recipes For All Ages

I think it might be official: My youngest just told me he thinks he’s too old to go trick-or-treating anymore. I’m not so sure I agree with his decision.

I have to admit that I’m not quite ready to be done with that chapter in my life (and his) just yet. However, I am glad that I don’t have to worry about creating three different costumes for the Halloween parade anymore. I also won’t miss being roped into buying the “costume of the year” this year!

My son’s announcement has made me realize how much I will miss the elementary school parties and all the fond memories of those younger years. I especially loved the all-school parade each year when the kids would march through the halls wearing their adorable costumes. The teachers and parents always enjoyed “oohing and aahing” at the unique outfits as the kids passed by each classroom.

Of course, those days are long gone, and Blueberry Haven has changed so much compared to the time my kids were in elementary school. My “little blueberry store” isn’t so little anymore, and it has truly flourished throughout the years.

Although the days are long gone for sharing my favorite Halloween treats at my boys’ elementary school, I still have a few chosen recipes I will share with you:

HALLOWEEN RECIPES

Candy Corn Mix Recipe

THE CANDY CORN MIX

Directions: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl for a yummy Halloween trail mix.

Halloween Blueberry Cider

HALLOWEEN CIDER

Directions: Combine 2 cups cider with 1/4 cup elixir; serve warm. You can adjust the amount of elixir to make the mix sweeter.

Tip: Add dark rum (you decide the amount) to create a delicious adult beverage.

Happy Halloween from Blueberry Haven!
