Let's be honest--most of us know that fresh-baked coffee cakes, muffins and blueberry desserts are the way into just about anyone's good graces! For that reason, and because we can't resist a recipe that features our favorite fruit, we decided to give this 1954 Pilsbury Bake-Off original recipe a try with Blueberry Haven's frozen blueberries in Tiffany's kitchen.
Add a cute apron, pearls and a little red lipstick and you're transported back into the 1950's! However, whether you're a fan of high heels or running shoes, this tasty dessert doesn't discriminate. Follow the recipe below to cook it up yourself and win someone's heart!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour and sugar.
Then cut in butter until it is the size of small peas. Reserve 3/4 cup of this mixture for crumb topping!
Then, add to the remaining mixture:
Baking soda, salt, unbeaten egg yolks, and milk.
Beat for 3 minutes with electric mixer at low speed! Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold gently and thoroughly into batter.
Spread into greased 12"x8"x2" pan.
Place 1 cup of blueberries over batter. Sprinkle with crumb mixture. Serve warm as a coffe cake, or cold with whipped cream.
This recipe was originally from the 1954 Pilsbury Bake-Off and was then featured in MidCenturyMenu.com! We had to give it a try because of our love of blueberries, and BOY was it worth it.
This blueberry boy bait could snag anybody! 😉
